well, today kids, i would like to discuss Obama and two simple facts:
1. He has declared himself to be a Christian, claiming to have attended the same church for over 20 years.
2. In a recent interview he used the worlds "My Muslim faith"
1. Since Obama has been in office, he has attended church in Washington (DC) only once on Easter Sunday. (Source: http://www.onenewsnow.com/Perspectives/Default.aspx?id=687792) This link was posted on a friend of mine's facebook, causing quite the debate. While Christians support this letter, including myself, democrats and nonchristians are extremely defensive. A woman named Wendy put in her opinion that, "Please remember it is not his responsiblity to hold the hands of everyone and lead them to church as well as solve the countries mega-problems." Besides the fact that she spelled responsibility wrong, there are several issues with this statement. The writer of that letter (see link above) never said that it was Obama's job to hold the hands of everyone OR lead them to church. My problem with her statement lies most in the part where she says "as well as solve the countries mega-problems." If it's not the President of the United States job to solve our country's "mega-problems" I'm not sure why the hell we have a president at all. The fact of the matter is, Obama has stated several times that he is in fact a Christian. He has been attending the same church for over two decades, why should he stop now? Sure, he has a lot of obligations, responsibilities and stress as our president.. But seeing as he claims to be a Christian, he should probably be going to church. Every Christian needs fellowship with other believers. The Church is about being the body of Christ; where we pray for one another, build up and support each other.
This shouldn't be a huge debate, Obama said that he is a Christian. Since he has claimed this as his faith, he should set an example by living out his faith.
2. In a recent interview, Obama was quoted as saying,
"Let's not play games, what I was suggesting -- you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith. And you're absolutely right that that has not come." (Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQqIpdBOg6I)
What I have to wonder is: what IS his faith?
Is he a Christian, or a Muslim?
I'm sure everyone would agree when I say that being a Christian or a Muslim are two VERY different things. I don't think it's too much to ask for him to make up his mind. The fact of the matter is, either way since he's said two different things; one of them is a lie.
I just have to wonder what is the truth, Mr. Obama?
